Valery Shchesnovich

Doutor em Física Teórica e Matemática (1997) pela Instituto de Física da Academia de Ciências de Belarus


De 1992 a 1998 trabalhou como pesquisador na Divisão para Problemas Óticas em Tecnologias de Informação, Academia de Ciências de Belarus (tema: solitons para informação e comunicação ótica). Pós-Doutorados: 1998-2001 Departamento de Matemática Pura e Aplicada, Universidade de Cape Town, África do Sul (tema: dinâmica não-linear) e 2002-2004 Instituto de Física Teórica - UNESP, São-Paulo (tema: Física de muitos corpos e Condensados de Bose-Einstein). Bolsas de pesquisa: 2004-2006 bolsa DCR, nível I, e em 2007 atuou como Professor Visitante Estrangeiro de CAPES (Universidade Federal de Alagoas em Maceió). Atualmente é Professor Adjunto na Universidade Federal do ABC. Atuando nos seguintes temas: Física quântica de muitos corpos e condensados de Bose-Einstein, Dinâmica não-linear (solitons e vórtices), Propagação de luz em cristais fotónicas (tunelamento de Zener, oscilações de Rabi, etc). Tem experiência em métodos pseudo-espectrais de simulação numérica para equações não-lineares do evolução e analise numérica no geral, método de "Espalhamento Inverso" e problema de Remann-Hilbert (area: sólitons).

 

From 1992 to 1998 he worked as a researcher in the Division for Optical Problems in Information Technologies, Academy of Sciences of Belarus (theme: solitons for optical communication and information). Post-Doctoral: 1998-2001 Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics, University of Cape Town, South Africa (theme: nonlinear dynamics) and 2002-2004 Institute for Theoretical Physics - UNESP, Sao-Paulo (subject: Physics of many bodies and Bose-Einstein). Research grants: 2004-2006 scholarship DCR, level I, and in 2007 served as Foreign Visiting Professor CAPES (Federal University of Alagoas in Maceió). He is currently Adjunct Professor at Universidade Federal do ABC. Works on the following topics: quantum many-body physics and Bose-Einstein, Nonlinear Dynamics (solitons and vortices), light propagation in photonic crystals (Zener tunneling, Rabi oscillations, etc.). Has experience in pseudo-spectral methods for numerical simulation to nonlinear equations of evolution and numerical analysis in general method of "Inverse Scattering" and Remann-Hilbert problem (area: solitons).
